FHE (Family Home Evening) is something that our family has been striving to do since Jimmy and I first got married…but we’ve definitely struggled more as we started our family and dealt with the stresses and busyness of life. About a year ago, we decided that we just needed to buckle down and get in the habit. We decided that FHE didn’t need to be any big production. It just needed to happen. The planner in me knew that if I could come up with an easy preplanned FHE program, it would be 1000X easier for us to get into the habit. I started looking for books and online resources, but struggled to find anything that felt “right” for us. So, I decided to make one for us. And today I’m going to share that with you. It’s super low maintenance and could easily be adapted for your family’s particular needs.
I took two primary songs and decided that each week we would learn a verse to the song and read a scripture that goes along with the verse. I picked “Follow The Prophet” and “Book of Mormon Stories” as the songs that we would be learning and studying. I printed ours off and put them in a little folder that we could easily grab on Monday evenings and would encourage you to do the same. 🙂
FHE each week went a little something like this….
- Sing the verse of the week
- Read the coordinating scripture
- Sing all verses that we have already learned
- Say a closing prayer
- Have a special treat (if I remembered to make one)
So, for your family’s use, here is the link to some super easy pre-planned FHE lessons!
I would love to see photos or hear about your experiences with this program. Follow me on instagram HERE and tag me in your FHE selfie so I can see!
Until next week,
